The Oklahoma Water Resources Board has recently approved 6 loans and 4 grants totaling $56.6 million for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements for:
- Town of Adair – $99,900 REAP Grant for water line replacement
- Bromide Public Works Authority- $99,999 REAP Grant for sewer system rehab
- Canadian County Rural Water & Sewer District No. 5 – $1,161,000 DWSRF loan for water line replacement
- Cherokee Development Authority – $73,000 Emergency Grant sewer lift station repairs
- Cleveland Municipal Authority – $8,565,000 FAP Loan for water treatment plant construction and related projects
- Lawton Water Authority – $12,705,000 CWSRF Loan for sewer line replacement
- Norman Utilities Authority – $12,000,000 FAP Loan for groundwater supply reliability projects
- Okmulgee Municipal Authority – $7,450,000 FAP Loan for water and wastewater improvements
- Stephens County RWD No. 4 – $100,014 REAP Grant for water line replacement and valve installation
- Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority – $14,350,000 CWSRF Loan for improvements at two wastewater treatment plants
The largest loan, $12,705,000 went to the Lawton Water Authority to replace nearly 95,000 feet of damaged sewer collection lines across eleven sub-basins, the North Wolf Creek Expansion and the South Wolf Creek Expansion. Over the course of the 19-year loan, the city customers are expected to save more than $2.1 million compared to traditional financing.
Norman received the second largest loan totaling $12 million to improve the city water infrastructure. The Water Authority in Norman operates 34 water wells but plans to drill 10 test holes and 6 new permanent production wells.
