OSU Grad gets major promotion at ExxonMobil

Oklahoma State University graduate Neil Hansen has been named a vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation following this week’s retirement of Jeff Woodbury, vice president of investor relations and secretary.

Woodbury retired after 35 years of service and Hansen, the downstream controller was elected by the board of directors as Woodbury’s successor. The promotion for Hansen is effective July 1.

Hansen went to work at ExxonMobil in  2000 as a financial specialist in the upstream controllers organization supporting ExxonMobil Exploration Company in Houston. He held different financial and accounting positions before becoming manager of financial reporting at the Sakhalin-1 project in Russia.

In 2008, he became audit division manager in Houston, then moved to Irving, Texas as senior financial  advisor in 2009. A year later, he became investor relations advisor.

In 2012, Hansen, who earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing at Oklahoma State University was named manager of planning and financial markets in the treasurers department.  He moved to Thailand in 2014 where he took on the roles of lead country manager and manager of business services.

After earning his degree from  OSU, Hansen obtained a master of business administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a master of science in accounting from the University of St. Thomas.
