From Key to Keane for one Energy Leader

From one energy company with deep involvement in oil and gas exploration in Oklahoma to another. It’s what Robert W. Drummond did this week, leaving Key Energy Services as CEO to become Chief Executive Officer and Director of Keane Group, Inc. in Houston.

Both companies have extensive oil and gas operations in Oklahoma’s STACK and SCOOP plays. Drummond will officially join Keane on or before Sept. 1 of this year. At that time, James Stewart, the current Chairman and CEO will remain as Executive Chairman of the board of Directors. Stewart has been Chairman and CEO since 2011.

Drummond previously spent more than 30 years at Schlumberger Limited in different executive positions including President of North America. He’ll now be leader of one of the largest independent completions services operators in the U.S.

“I am pleased to join the Keane team at such an important time and am excited to build upon Keane’s strong reputation and successful track-record,” said Mr. Drummond. “Keane’s unwavering commitment to its customers and employees, as well as its rich culture of safety and operational excellence aligns perfectly with my focus and values.”

The company’s broad geographic footprint spans the most prolific U.S. shale basins including the SCOOP/STACK, the Permian, Marcellus, Utica and Bakken.
