Another wind industry leader is speaking out against possible plans in the Oklahoma legislature to put a tax on wind farm operations.
He is Ron Flax-Davidson who is chairman and CEO of PNE Wind USA,Inc. a firm based in Chicago. The company is in the process of building the Chilocco Wind Farm to be located in northern Oklahoma.
He wrote a “Point of View” over the weekend in the Saturday edition of The Oklahoman.
Flax-Davidson pointed out new wind farms like Chilocco will receive no tax subsidies or other benefits from state or local communities.
“PNE Wind USA strongly opposes the idea of a new wind tax. This would make new wind farms uneconomic,” he wrote. “No new wind farms would be built, and new new tax revenues would be obtained. New wind taxes on new wind farms won’t help anybody!”
