Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy opted out of running for re-election this year and is making a run for the Republican nomination for Lt. Governor.
She was first elected to the Commission in 2008 and won re-election in 2016 to a third term. Murphy previously operated a private law firm that focused on oil and gas title and regulatory practice. She is also a geologist and member of the electric Power Research Institute Advisory Council and a member of the Regional State Committee of the Southwest Power Pool.
Murphy also serves on the Oklahoma Water Resources Research Institute advisory board.
