Baker Hughes is reporting an increase in the international rig count for February.
The Houston-based GE company said the February 2018 count was 979, an increase of 19 from the 960 reported in January. It also was an increase of 38 compared to February 2017.
However, the international offshore rig count for February was 194, a decline of two from January. It was also down 6 from the 200 counted a year ago.
The average U.S. rig count for February 2018 was 969, an increase of 32 from January and up 225 from the 744 counted in February 2017.
In Canada, the average rig count for February was 323, an increase of 45 from January but a decline of 19 from a year ago.
