Surprise—–No Recommendations of Cutting Tax Credits to Governor and Legislature so Far

As the Oklahoma Incentive Evaluation Commission prepares to meet Tuesday to continue its consideration of tax credits, its most recent recommendations to the governor and the state legislature are surprising to some.

Initially when the Commission was formed earlier in the year, there was a suggested belief that some tax credits or incentives might get a recommended elimination. But as OK Energy’s Alisha Davidson reported on Wednesday, the commission didn’t even vote to trim the credits for the state’s wind industry, a favorite target of some anti-wind legislators.

The commission meets Nov. 29 to consider a request from commissioner Deby Snodgrass to disqualify the Industrial Access Road Program from being reviewed.

the Commission faces a Dec. 15 deadline to make its recommendations to Gov. Fallin and legislative leaders.
