Crude oil prices turned things around in Thursday’s trading, finished above $61 a barrel after Wednesday’s drop to around $59.
West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery shot up $2.29 to $61.45 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude had a good day as well, finishing up $2.12 to $64.86 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
May natural gas rose 2 cents to $2.64 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Thursday was a big day for most Oklahoma energy stocks. Cimarex Energy had the biggest gain of the day at 8.47% as shares rose $5.03 to close at $64.42.
Laredo Petroleum had a gain of 8.28% on a $2.49 increase to $32.55. Devon Energy gained 7.45% on an increase of $1.63 to reach $23.50 for the day.

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 1.11 at 11.79 – change 10.39%
National Oilwell Varco (NOV) up 0.47 at 14.19 – change 3.42%
Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 0.76 at 27.38 – change 2.85%
Phillips 66 (PSX) up 1.62 at 83.16 – change 1.98%
