Wednesday proved to be another big day in trading for some Oklahoma energy companies, despite the protests in Washington, D.C. and a drop in U.S. crude oil prices.
Crude oil futures dropped in the U.S. but increased in Europe. West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery fell 19 cents to $50.44 per barrel, a drop of 0.38%.
Global benchmark Brent crude, also for February delivery was up 70 cents to finish the day at $54.30, a gain of 1.31%.
Natural gas slipped one cent to $2.71 per MMBtu, a decline of 0.22%.
Who had the biggest gain of the Oklahoma companies? Chesapeake Energy had a nearly 17% gain as its stock rose 31 cents to finish the day at $2.16.
