Annual Tinker Air Force Base Contracting Conference Approaching in Midwest City

Tinker Air Force base is planning another effort at attracting business with civilian firms with its Tinker and the Primes.

For eleven years, Tinker and the Primes has attracted hundreds of aerospace, defense and government contracting agencies and organizations. This year’s conference “Innovating Together” will be the 12th and is planned for Aug. 21-23 at the Reed Conference Center in Midwest City.

The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce and Rose State College with the help of Tinker Air Force Base are sponsoring the event. Gov. Mary Fallin will open the conference on the morning of Aug. 21.

Among the speakers will be Ed Dolanski, President of Global Services and Support for The Boeing Company; Col. John Waggoner who is Director of Customer Operations for the Department of Defense/Defense Logistics Agency; and Tom Owen, Vice president of Sustainment Strategies at Lockheed Martin who will discuss sustainment of the F-35 fighter jet.

There will also be a presentation and discussion of the overview of the next five years at Tinker regarding the management of the KC-10, KC-46A and the KC-135. Col. R. Mark Mocio, Chief of the Legacy Tanker Division will give the in-depth look at the planes.
