Continental Resources Finds More Success in STACK and SCOOP

Oklahoma’s STACK play has resulted in some production for Continental Resources Inc. with at least two wells producing more than 1,500 barrels of oil a day. But the company also found more success in the SCOOP.

The Oklahoma City-based company guided by Harold Hamm reported one well with production of 1,798 barrels of oil a day in Blaine county. The Roth well is located approximately 3 miles south of the town of Hitchcock. Its spud date was August of last year with drilling finished in September and completion in February of 2017, according to the completion reports published by OK Energy Today.

A second well located 3 miles north of Watonga is producing 1,597 barrels of oil daily. Its spud date was June 2016. Drilling finished in August and completion was reported in January 2017. The Zella well is in the Mississippian.

A third well for Continental Resources is producing 1,130 barrels a day. The Wintersole is located near the Zella well and had a spud date in June of last year. Drilling finished in October and completion was made in January 2017.

Two other Blaine county wells were completed by Continental Resources with lower productions.

Continental has been busy in the STACK but also saw two big wells in the SCOOP. The company had a well producing 1,003 barrels of oil a day in Grady County. The Boatright well is three miles south of Alex. It had a spud date of August 2015 with drilling finished in December of that year. But the completion didn’t occur until January 2017. A second Grady County well near Alex had a spud date of July 2015. Drilling wasn’t finished until February 2016 and completion didn’t happen until January 2017. The well is producing 921 barrels a day. Continental also reported two other lower producing wells in Grady County.
