Oklahoma’s most active oil/gas play sees increased drilling

While Oklahoma’s number of oil and gas rigs remained at 44 over the past week, the latest Baker Hughes Rig Count showed one of the state’s most active oil and gas plays saw a slight gain.

The Cana Woodward count went up by one in the past week to reach 24 rigs. The Granite Wash in the Anadarko Basin was unchanged with 14 rigs.

Elsewhere in the state, the Ardmore Woodford continued for another week with no reported rig activity. The Arkoma Woodford continued with 2 rigs. The Mississippian went another week with no rig activity.

The Baker Hughes Rig Count showed the Permian Basin count jumped one to 242 rigs. The Haynesville added a rig to reach 56 and the Eagle Ford saw 3 more rigs breaking the landscape for a total of 45. The Marcellus was unchanged with 25 active rigs. The Utica continued with 12 while the Williston in North Dakota and Montana saw a drop of one to 29 rigs.

The count was unchanged at 9 total rigs in the D-J  Niobrara and the Barnett stayed at one rig.
