
Reports suggest Williams Cos. Executive Chairman Alan Armstrong is Gov. Kevin Stitt’s choice to succeed U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin in the even Mullin is approved to be the nation’s next Homeland Security Department Director.
Armstrong took over at Williams as Chief Executive Officer in 2011 and because the company’s Executive Chairman in the summer of 2025.
Reports indicate the U.S. Senate could vote as early as Monday on Mullin’s nomination. Last week, a Senate Committee voted 8-7 to recommend his appointment.
Armstrong’s reported nomination to be Mullin’s successor for about a 7-month period drew immediate reaction at Mitchell Talks Energy With Jerry Bohnen as the two spent Sunday discussing what it means for the energy industry, the state and for Armstrong.
