Oklahoma Gas and Electric is looking into reports one of its contractors mistakenly cut the wrong electrical wire at an El Reno home late last year, causing a power surge that left a neighboring home with unusable appliances.
KFOR TV reports OGE responded to its inquiries as it looked into what happened last December at the home of Armando Macias.
“OG&E is sorry to hear about this issue with our customer. We spoke to the customer, and we are investigating the cause of the damage. We will continue to work closely with the customer for a full resolution,” stated OG&E in a statement to the TV station.
The homeowner reported the contractor was doing work on a neighboring home when the workers cut a wire by mistake and when he and his wife returned home, they were greeted by flashing lights. He said his wife was shocked when she get into the bath.
Macias took KFOR through his home, showing the appliances that failed because of the reported mistake.
