Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Kim David didn’t waste any time after Oklahoma Congressman Kevin Hern announced he’s a candidate for US Senate.
David, a Republican, wants to replace Hern as the state’s First Congressional Representative and made the announcement Thursday afternoon.
“Others talk conservative,” said David. “I’ve spent my career delivering results. In Congress, I will stand with President Trump to secure the border, protect American energy, defend our freedoms and lower the cost of living for Oklahoma families.”
David is a Republican who previously served as the Oklahoma Senate Majority Leader, the first woman to be named to that position since Oklahoma became a state.
In her campaign announcement on social media, David said she has defended Oklahoma values throughout her political career.
David has been an Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner since January of 2023 and is the commission’s chair. She previously was in the Oklahoma State Senate where she was the first woman to be named majority leader. Serving from 2010 to 2022, she also chaired the Senate Appropriations Committee.
