Corporation Commission names new Communications Director

After the Oklahoma Corporation Commission fired the agency’s Communications Director Trey Davis in January, it announced the naming of a replacement.
The Commission said it hired Jack Damrill, an individual with more than three decades of experience in communications work.
In this role, Damrill will oversee the Commission’s communications strategy, media relations, digital platforms, and public outreach efforts. He will work closely with the three elected Commissioners and agency leadership to help inform Oklahomans about the Commission’s work regulating energy, utilities, transportation, and environmental stewardship across the state.
Damrill has more than 30 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, and broadcast media, including leadership roles in higher education, state government, and the private sector.
Damrill revealed his new job on social media, telling followers, “Starting a new drive to work today as I head to the State Capitol Complex as the Communications Director for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Excited to begin this new journey.’
Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Marketing & Communications at Oklahoma City Community College, where he led branding, marketing, media relations, and digital communications initiatives supporting the college’s institutional priorities and student outreach. He also worked briefly at Boeing
as a Communications & Branding Specialist for Boeing at Tinker Air Force Base.
He previously served as Director of Marketing & Communications for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, where he managed statewide communications initiatives and major public information campaigns. Damrill also served as Associate Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Oklahoma State University–Oklahoma City, where he was responsible for the university’s brand strategy, media relations, and marketing operations.
Earlier in his career, Damrill spent several years as a television news anchor and reporter, covering major national and regional stories and contributing to outlets including MSNBC and NBC affiliates.
The man he replaced, Trey Davis, was officially the agency’s Chief of Communications and Operations Officer and worked closely with former Director of Administration, Brandy Wreath who was dismissed by the three commissioners in December 2025. Davis lost his job a week later. He had worked at the Corporation Commission since 2024 when he was hired to replace Matt Skinner who retired.
