Two major expansions, one in Tulsa and the other in Stillwater, were announced in the past week.
Lufthansa Technik Component Services held a recent ceremony for a 25,000-square-foot addition to its plant at Tulsa International Airport. The expansion included 90 new workstations and an upgraded avionics workshop for maintenance, repair and overhaul across the country.
The company said the expansion will allow the German-based firm to carry out repair and overhaul of Integrated Drive Generators (IDG) used in Airbus A320ceo and A320neo as well as Boeing 737NG and MAX aircraft.
The Stillwater City Council voted in support of a permit allowing Synthesia Technology to begin construction of a $100 million chemical plant. The city’s Planning Commission had earlier recommended approval of the request.
Construction at the 98-acre site will begin this summer. Synthesia was founded in 1964 and has plants across Spain, France and Panama. Once operational, the plant will produce polyester polyols which are considered a base ingredient in foam insulated boards. The product is also used for water bottles and sodar waters.
