Brief rest from wildfire dangers for state’s firefighters

After a windy Sunday in which almost the entire state of Oklahoma was under a Red Flag Warning, the state’s energy operators might have a brief respite from making sure wildfires don’t damage or destroy their operations. So will firefighters.

The Oklahoma Forestry Service, in its most recent wildfire update, said the fire weather relaxes Monday and Tuesday with some higher afternoon relative humidity values and calmer winds. But the dry conditions will persist across the state.

The outlook from the Forestry Service said the dry conditions will continue throughout the week as another warming trend continues Tuesday.

The warming trend, it stated, is expected to  be creating “another period of increased fire danger concern Thursday and Friday  as another frontal boundary moves into the area.”
