A stormy week for Oklahoma

Oklahoma Climatologist Gary McManus with the Oklahoma Mesonet says it could be a stormy week for the state, especially Friday.

Here’s his timeline sent this week.

“*Wednesday: SE OK this time, Wednesday night into Thursday morning, there will be a low-but-not-zero tornado threat, and hail/high winds.

*Thursday: Western OK this time, evening into the overnight, with all severe hazards possible.
*Friday: Maybe the big day, that’s why I singled it out. All modes of severe weather possible. Seeing the 30% area on SPC’s outlook 4 days out gives me a bad feeling in an after-eating-at-Taco-Bell kind of way,” he wrote in his usual comical fashion on Tuesday.
In other words, all areas of the state could face stormy weather, except for perhaps the far western Panhandle.
His advice? Prepare your safety plans.
“Clean out that cellar/storm shelter…you know those spiders have been comfortable for too long.”
