Oklahoma’s most active oil and gas no change in rig numbers

Drilling in Oklahoma’s most active oil and gas plays remained the same last week compared to the previous week, according to the latest Baker Hughes Rig Count.

The Cana Woodford remained the most active play in the Anadarko Basin with 22 rigs, same as the prior week. It was followed by the Granite Wash with 13 rigs, unchanged from a week earlier.

The Ardmore Woodford stayed at 2 rigs and the Arkoma Woodford continued with a count of 3. Oklahoma’s Mississippian continued another week with no reported drilling activity, base on the Baker Hughes count.

Around the nation, the Permian Basin count increased by one to 239 rigs. The Eagle Ford of South Texas continued with 40 rigs and the Marcellus remained at 26. There was no change in the Haynesville where 52 rigs are active. The Utica count was unchanged at 14. The Williston total saw no change at 28 rigs.
