No letup in drilling activity in western Oklahoma

 

The latest Baker Hughes Rig Count indicated a decline of one rig in Oklahoma but its numbers also indicated no change in the drilling activity in the state’s Anadarko Basin.

The Cana Woodford, according to Baker Hughes, saw no change with 22 rigs. The Granite Wash also remained at 13, same as a week ago. The Ardmore Woodford stayed at 2 rigs and the Arkoma Woodford continued with 3 rigs. The  Mississippian went another week with no reported drilling activity.

Elsewhere, the Permian Basin saw a decline of 3 rigs to 238. The Eagle Ford remained at 40 and the Haynesville added 2 to reach a total of 52 rigs. There was a gain of one rig for 26 in the Marcellus.

The Utica was unchanged at 14 while the Williston drilling activity declined by one to 28 rigs.

In other plays, the D-J Basin remained at 9 rigs and the Barnett remained at one.
