The merger of Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy and Houston’s Coterra Energy was formally announced early today.
In a stunning move, the two firms decided the new company, still retaining the name of Devon Energy, will be headquartered in Houston and not in Oklahoma City.
“The combined company will be named Devon Energy and will be headquartered in Houston while maintaining a significant presence in Oklahoma City,” stated the announcement.
