
Crude oil down for the week with a slight gain on Friday
Friday’s gain in crude oil prices was small enough that it could almost be described as neutral for the day, largely due to an overall slowdown in U.S. inflation.
It offset supply worries as OPEC+ is reported to be leaning to a resumption in production hikes. Still, for the week, both Brent and WTI finished down….Brent down about 0.5% and WTI 1% for the week.
West Texas Intermediate crude rose 5 cents a barrel or 0.08% on Friday and settled at $62.89 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude finished up 23 centers or 0.3% and closed at $67.75 a barrel.
Natural gas prices rose with a slight bump on Friday, finishing the day at $3.220 MMBtu. It gained $0.003 or 0.09%.
Friday was a day of positive trading for Oklahoma energy stocks as every one of the stocks we follow saw gains. Mach Natural Resources had the biggest gain at more than 4% while others were in the 1% to 2% territory.
