January Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 5

 

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s monthly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream.

One of the Engineering Contracts to be considered includes a more than $1 million contract for the inspection and inventory of billboards and junkyards across the state. The contract totals $1,321,223.51.

The agenda also included some speed zone revisions. One will total more than 3 miles of SH 99 in Creek County while a second revision will include 3.5 miles of SH 99 including the City of Oilton in Creek County.

The agenda also included:

  • The American Concrete Pavement Association will present ODOT with an industry award for quality bridge construction on I-35 in Wynnewood.
  • ODOT Executive Director Tim Gatz will provide an update to commissioners on multiple projects beginning this year that will have a major impact to traffic such as US-75 over Polecat Creek in Jenks, interchange reconstruction on I-40 in Clinton and progress on the US-70 Roosevelt bridge replacement.
  • Gatz will reflect upon ODOT’s accomplishments and major milestones from 2025.
  • Commissioners will be updated on the status of winter weather preparations and receive helpful driving tips to remember this season.
