Firm drilling rig totals reported in Oklahoma

Nation's drilling rig count dropped along with numbers in Oklahoma - Oklahoma Energy Today

 

Little has changed when it comes to the number of oil and gas drilling rigs active in the state of Oklahoma over the past week.

The count remained at 43 in the latest Baker Hughes Rig Count released on Friday and the state’s oil and gas plays saw no change in their numbers.

The Cana Woodford remained the most active play with 17 rigs while the Granite Wash was one rig behind at 16 rigs.

The Ardmore Woodford remained at 4 rigs and the Arkoma Woodford also continued with its previous total of 2 rigs. The Mississippian continued another week with no reported drilling activity, according to Baker Hughes.

Elsewhere in the U.S., the rig count in the Permian Basin was unchanged at 244. The Williston remained at 28 and the Eagle Ford continued with 40 rigs.

The Haynesville total of 42 rigs was unchanged from the prior week. The Marcellus had a count of 24 rigs, same as a week earlier. The Utica continued with 15 rigs. The D-J Niobrara added 2 to reach 9 rigs while the Barnett count was unchanged at one.
