Steady oil/gas rig activity in Oklahoma

Rig count grows again in Oklahoma and nationwide

 

 

Oklahoma’s oil and gas drilling was unchanged in the past week as the latest Baker Hughes Rig Count showed no losses or gains in the state’s popular drilling regions.

The Cana Wood remained the most active with an unchanged count of 17 rigs followed by the Granite Wash at 12.

The Ardmore Woodford remained at 3 active rigs while the Arkoma Woodford stayed at 2 rigs. The Mississippian also continued with one rig.

Elsewhere around the nation, the Permian Basin saw no change with a count of 251 rigs in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. The Williston of North Dakota remained at 29 rigs while the Marcellus play stayed at 24.

The Eagle Ford of South Texas saw a decline of one rig to 38 and the Haynesville in East Texas and Louisiana remained at 41 total oil and gas rigs.

Of other energy plays in the U.S., the DJ Basin saw no change with 9 rigs and the Utica continued with 14 rigs. The Barnett play of North Texas was consistent with a continued count of 2 rigs.
