
Oklahoma’s oil and gas plays saw a gain of one rig to be added to the state’s latest rig count based on information from Baker Hughes Co.
The Ada Woodford in eastern Oklahoma grew to 2 active rigs. Not the heaviest of drilling activity but it still reflected an increase.
The Ardmore Woodford was unchanged at 4 rigs, according to the Baker Hughes Rig Count. The state’s most active play, the Cana Woodford remained at 17 rigs while the Granite Wash continued with a count of 15 active rigs.
The Mississippian continued with one rig.
Around the U.S., the Permian Basin saw a gain of one rig for 247 while the Williston continued with 29 and the Haynesville stayed at 42 rigs.
The Eagle Ford in South Texas saw a gain of 2 rigs for a total of 41.
The D-J Basin remained at 7 and the Marcellus play continued with 24 rigs. The Utica also continued with a count of 15 rigs.
