Yukon Leaders Say $1B Hyperscale Data Center Still Not Final

City of Yukon officials continue to stress that the proposed $1 billion hyperscale data center is far from guaranteed, even as public interest accelerates around what would be one of the largest projects in the region. During a 30-minute Facebook Live session, City Manager Jeff Deckard urged residents to understand that the development remains early in the process.

“It’s not a done deal. We are only in the beginning stages of it,”
Jeff Deckard, Yukon City Manager

Deckard, joined by Mayor Brian Pillmore, responded to questions from residents regarding the plan for a 0.5-gigawatt hyperscale data center on a 184-acre site near Highway 66 and Frisco Road, on Yukon’s west side near the Oklahoma City boundary. The Yukon Progress first reported the details.

Key Agreements Still Not in Place

Water and Power Contracts Remain Major Hurdles

Both Deckard and Pillmore emphasized that the city cannot complete the sale of the land or advance the project until the developer meets a series of requirements. Yukon sold the site to BLE (Beltline Energy) Landholdings LLC, but the transaction will not close until the city signs off on two major agreements:

  • A water usage agreement with the city

  • A power agreement between Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) and the developer

Deckard said these “measurables” must be satisfied before Yukon can move forward.

“We have several measurables as we go,” Deckard said. “We’re a ‘long ways’ from it. We are committed that they will make those measurables, and they will do what’s right.”

Significant Conditions Before Contract Can Close

Mayor Pillmore agreed the project involves numerous conditions, deadlines, and regulatory checks.

“There’s a lot of conditions precedent to the [real estate] contract closing.”

City officials said the public should expect a lengthy review process, with multiple stages requiring approval before ground can be broken.

Who Is Beltline Energy?

The developer, Beltline Energy, is a renewable energy company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Public filings and prior city documents identify the firm as pursuing data center infrastructure tied closely to large-scale renewable power generation.

While the company has secured the land agreement, no construction timeline has been approved and no formal application has been submitted to state utility regulators or planning bodies.
