Permian gas prompts biggest pipeline buildout

The Permian Basin’s production of natural gas is so big that at least a dozen new pipelines in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma are planned next year to hand the transportation of the product.

It’s being billed as the biggest pipeline buildup since the shale gas boom of 2008. Bloomberg reported the projects could boost U.S. Gulf Coast region’s capacity to move natural gas by 13%.

One of the reasons for the growing demand for natural gas is to power electric manufacturing for data centers looking for reliable energy supply drive, reported Oilprice.com.
