
The latest Baker Hughes Rig count showed losses in two of Oklahoma’s plays where there had been significant activity.
The Cana Woodford, according to the report, dropped 3 rigs leaving a total of 17 still active in the western Oklahoma play.
The Granite Wash, another active play, saw its count drop by one to 12 rigs.
The Mississippian remained at one rig and the Arkoma Woodford stayed at 3. The Ardmore Woodford continued with 2 rigs.
The Baker Hughes report showed Oklahoma’s overall rig count only fell by one for a total of 41 rigs.
Other oil and gas plays included the Permian Basin which grew by 2 rigs for 2253. The Williston count dropped one to 29 and the Utica remained at 14 rigs.
The Marcellus stayed at 23 and the Haynesville count was unchanged at 41 rigs.
The D-J Basin remained at 10 rigs and the Barnett count stayed at 2.
