Lots of rain in the forecast for Oklahoma

Whew! Rain at last?  Well, maybe. At least that’s what the weather people are forecasting in the state.

Among them is Oklahoma Climatologist Gary McManus with the Mesonet System who says a few inches of rain might fall within a day or two.

“—that’s just the first in a series of systems that could bring us rainfall. If you look through early next week. we could add to those amounts.”

Record warm weather remains with us and it was enjoyable over the weekend, right?

McManus pointed out that the 94 degrees recorded at Tipton tied for the second-highest temperature ever recorded during November in the state.

“Tops are the 95s recorded by the Hollis Mesonet site back on Nov. 7, 2023, and also at Coalgate on Nov. 1, 1937, although I suspect that Coalgate temperature was probably from Oct. 31, given the time-shift of COOP data from that time,” he wrote this week.
