Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly says her biggest political Christmas wish this year is to find a solution to the state’s water issues.
She told those gathering recently at the annual Christmas tree donation at Cedar Crest, the governor’s mansion, it would be the best gift from Statehouse Republicans.
“Recognizing that that is not a political win or loss for anybody, but absolutely essential for the future in this state,” Kelly said, reported the Kansas Reflector. She echoed what she said in August when she made water her highest priority, explaining her concern over falling levels in the Ogallala Aquifer, the same Aquifer that reaches the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.
