Google isn’t backing away from developing yet another metropolitan data center campus, announcing it intends to spend billions more for such a center in Muskogee.

Mayor Patrick Cale made the announcement in a recent State of the City address, stating Google will build “two major data centers” representing a multi-billion dollar investment in the eastern Oklahoma city.

“It marks the most significant economic investment in the community’s history,” Cale said. “Google‘s investment marks a defining moment for the community of Muskogee. When one of the world’s most recognized brands chooses your community, it sends a powerful message that Muskogee is ready to lead the way in  and  innovation.”

It will be Google’s third such data center site as it announced months ago it planned to spend $9 billion on a new data center in Stillwater while also expanding its existing data center in Pryor.
