Tulsa Executive Takes Helm of National Energy Group

The American Gas Association (AGA) has elected Sid McAnnally, president and CEO of ONE Gas, Inc., as Chair of its Board of Directors for 2026.
The Tulsa-based company serves more than 2.3 million customers through its divisions—Oklahoma Natural Gas, Kansas Gas Service, and Texas Gas Service.

McAnnally’s selection places an Oklahoma leader at the forefront of the national conversation about natural gas reliability, innovation, and infrastructure modernization.

McAnnally Highlights Natural Gas as Key to Growth

“Natural gas delivers affordable and reliable energy to families and businesses,” McAnnally said. “It also supports manufacturing, technology, and emissions reduction.”

He emphasized that utilities must adapt as artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and data centers drive new energy demand.

“I’m honored to chair AGA’s Board in 2026,” McAnnally added. “Together, we’ll strengthen the infrastructure that serves our communities and our economy every day.”

Proven Leadership at ONE Gas

McAnnally joined ONE Gas in 2015 as senior vice president of operations and became president and CEO in 2021.
Under his leadership, the company has prioritized safety, modernization, and long-term energy planning across Oklahoma and surrounding states.

He is recognized for guiding one of the country’s top natural gas distribution companies, focusing on operational excellence and community partnership.

AGA Leadership Praises McAnnally’s Vision

AGA President and CEO Karen Harbert praised McAnnally as a trusted industry voice.

“Sid is a respected leader with a proven commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service,” she said.
“His experience and strategic insight will help us advance practical policies that benefit customers and the economy alike.”

The 2026 AGA executive team will also include:

  • Donald “Blue” Jenkins, President, Washington Gas – First Vice Chair

  • Michael Innocenzo, Executive Vice President & COO, Exelon Corp. – Second Vice Chair

  • Lloyd Yates, President & CEO, NiSource Inc. – Immediate Past Chair

Oklahoma’s Growing National Energy Influence

McAnnally’s appointment reinforces Oklahoma’s influence in national energy leadership. The state’s utilities remain deeply involved in shaping federal discussions on energy infrastructure, emissions reduction, and affordability.

With the American Gas Association representing more than 200 local energy utilities nationwide, McAnnally’s leadership ensures Tulsa—and Oklahoma—remain central to the future of America’s energy conversation.
