“The tax revenue generated from renewable energy has allowed Seiling Public Schools to build and equip new facilities and create learning environments that reflect our town’s pride and progress.”
The spread of wind and solar farms across Oklahoma has its detractors. But the renewable energy projects also have many supporters such as Dr. Kyle Reynolds, Superintendent of Schools in Seiling.
He wrote about his support in the Sunday Oklahoman newspaper’s opinion section.
“Across western Oklahoma, advanced energy projects have brought stability and opportunity to rural communities. In places like Garfield and Dewey counties, these additional revenues have allowed schools to move “off the formula,” directing those state funds to other districts, while also providing the ability for our school to fulfill immediate needs. These partnerships have strengthened local economies, supported teachers, and given students access to resources that enhance their learning environments, all while maintaining fiscal responsibility.”
