OG&E cuts fuel cost adjustment for Oklahoma customers

Customers of Oklahoma Gas and Electric are getting notifications of a decrease in their monthly utility bills. OG&E said it would make a fuel cost adjustment for customers beginning November 1. The utility said the average residential customer’s monthly bill would be $6.75 lower a month. OG&E said it represents a reduction of 4.8% in the monthly bill of an average residential customer.

OG&E described this change as good news for residential customers who continue to deal with higher utility costs. The company said it will apply the fuel cost adjustment directly on Oklahoma bills. OG&E said customers should watch their November or December statements, depending on billing cycles, to see the difference.

Good news!

We’re pleased to share that beginning November 1, the fuel cost adjustment for customers will result in a decrease in your monthly bill.

Here’s what this good news means for you:

The average residential customer’s monthly bill will be $6.75 lower per month.
This represents a 4.8% reduction in the average residential customer’s monthly bill.

OG&E fuel charge and Oklahoma utility bills

We wanted to let you know OG&E has begun notifying customers by email today of a change to the fuel factor charge that will lower bills for the average residential customer in Oklahoma. With this change, the average residential customer bill will be $6.75 lower per month beginning Nov. 1. Customers will see the bill reduction in November or December depending on when they receive their monthly bill.

The fuel charge in every customer’s bill can change two times per year, depending on the actual cost of fuel to produce electricity. OG&E does not profit from fuel and has implemented cost-saving strategies for fuel purchases to minimize the impact on customer bills. OG&E sources and purchases fuel at the lowest cost possible as forecasted.
