Osage LLC Welcomes WindShape to Skyway Range in Tulsa
Osage LLC has reached a major milestone at Skyway Range by welcoming WindShape Inc. as the first tenant at the newly expanded Tulsa facility.
Osage WindShape Opens First U.S. Facility in Tulsa
The Swiss-based company cut the ribbon on its first U.S. site on September 25, bringing advanced indoor drone testing capabilities not available anywhere else in the country. The addition marks an important expansion of Osage LLC’s footprint in the aerospace and innovation economy.
Inside its 20,000-square-foot facility, WindShape operates eight simulation labs. These labs recreate real-world weather conditions — wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures — in controlled settings. This allows drone companies to accelerate safety validation, product development, and certification processes.
Skyway Range: A Hub for Aerospace Innovation
“Welcoming WindShape as our first tenant brings our vision for Skyway Range to life,” said Russell Goff, CEO of Osage LLC. He emphasized the role of the Osage Nation, INCOG, and the EDA in securing grant support for the renovated hangar space.
The partnership between WindShape and Skyway Range creates a one-of-a-kind testing ecosystem. The site offers a 3,000-foot runway, outdoor testing zones, and access to a 1,200-square-mile Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) corridor, making Tulsa a national hub for aerospace innovation.
Global Investment Anchored in Oklahoma
“Opening this facility in Tulsa reflects a strategic choice,” said WindShape CEO Guillaume Catry. “Oklahoma is building one of the nation’s most advanced environments for autonomous flight. We are proud to help companies test drones safely, speed certification, and create high-skill jobs for the future of aerospace.”
The project is part of the Tulsa Regional Advanced Mobility (TRAM) Cluster, which brings together Osage LLC, Tulsa Innovation Labs, Oklahoma State University, and regional partners. More than $40 million in federal Build Back Better funding and EDA Tech Hubs support is fueling the expansion.
Driving Economic Opportunities for the Osage Nation
Jennifer Hankins, Managing Director of Tulsa Innovation Labs, highlighted the significance of WindShape’s investment. “By setting a clear vision and executing it, we’ve created a nationally unique hub that will shape the future of drone technology.”
For the Osage Nation, the expansion also brings economic opportunities, job growth, and workforce development, while honoring its history as pioneers in aviation.
