NextEra Energy awaits a decision by federal energy regulators on its move to reopen the shuttered Duane Arnold nuclear plant located in Iowa.
The company filed a request with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on July 25 seeking to reclaim interconnection rights that were previously transferred from the nuclear plant to a solar development.
The plant was closed 5 years ago but NextEra is responding to growth power demands in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator.
