Leeward Renewable Energy among 100 top businesses to work

 

 

Leeward Renewable Energy, the Texas-based firm in the process of constructing three solar farms in eastern Oklahoma was named to Fast Company’s list of the 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators.

This marks the second consecutive year LRE has been recognized for cultivating an environment where creative ideas thrive and employees are empowered to develop solutions that drive the future of energy with innovation and positive impact.

LRE, headquartered in Dallas, was created in 2003 in Texas and now owns and operates 30 utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across  8 states., totaling 4 gigawatts of generating capacity. It has nearly 380 employees.

The company is in the process of building solar farms in eastern Oklahoma including one to assist Google in the operation and expansion of its data center at the industrial park in Pryor.

The annual list, now in its seventh year, honors companies across industries, including technology, healthcare, consumer goods, and energy, that are successfully embedding innovation into their cultures. To determine this year’s winners, Fast Company evaluated applicants based on investment in innovation, company culture, and internal programs, followed by an expert panel review of the top-scoring companies.
