An approaching “exercise” at Fort Sill means there will be a blackout of electrical power on the mililtary post in southern Oklahoma.
The Army plans to hold the “Black Start” exercise on September 10 and for a six hour period, there won’t be electrical power as the post assesses its emergency response capabilities.
The planned power outage will be a test of the backup power systems at the Fort and at the same time to make sure its mission readiness is fully functional in a time of emergency.
