Ascent Resources Names Brooks Shughart as President

OKLAHOMA CITY — Ascent Resources, LLC, one of the nation’s largest private natural gas producers, announced a major leadership change this week. The company promoted Brooks Shughart, currently Chief Financial Officer, to President of Ascent and its subsidiaries.
Expanding His Role
Shughart will continue serving as CFO while taking on expanded responsibilities that include:

Marketing and midstream operations

Day-to-day operations management
He will also maintain his existing duties overseeing finance, treasury, investor relations, and accounting.

“He first served on our Board of Managers from 2015 to 2020 and then transitioned into an executive role. Since then, he has improved our financial performance, strengthened our balance sheet, and refined both capital and business strategies. His promotion is well-deserved.”
The company said the promotion takes effect immediately. Fisher will continue as Chairman and CEO.
