The summer heat returns.
It’s not a surprise, is it? You knew it was coming, again.
Gary McManus, State Climatologist with the Oklahoma Mesonet writes that “we’ve been pretty darned lucky thus far.”
In his Tuesday Mesonet update, he explained that the normal statewide average high temperature for June 1 throuogh Aug. 4 is 91.6F and we’ve been somewhere around 89F.
In other words, “2025 has been the year without a summer, although summer summered some already, and is about to summer again.”
Take Woodward for example…this week’s temperatures will hit 101, 102 and 103. Altus will be in the same boat and so will Lawton.
