Oklahoma continued another week with no change in the number of oil and gas rigs active in the various oil and gas plays.
The latest Baker Hughes Rig Report showed no change with 43 active rigs, compared to the 38 rigs reported a year ago at this time.
The Granite Wash and the Cana Woodford are the most active plays in the state. Sixteen rigs were reported in the Granite Wash while the Cana Woodford had 15 rigs.
The Mississippi went for another week with no reported rig activity, according to Baker Hughes. The Arkoma Woodford also had no rig activity while the Ardmore Woodford recorded only one rig.
The Permian Basin of course is the most active oil and gas play in the nation with 255 rigs, same as the previous week. The Williston, which extends across North Dakota and into parts of Montana, South Dakota and Canada saw a drop of one rig, leaving 30 across the region.
The Haynesville in East Texas and Louisiana remained at 40 rigs while the Eagle Ford of South Texas stayed at 39. The Marcellus continued with 24 rigs. The D-J Niobrara was unchanged with 9 active rigs. The Utica’s count of 12 was unchanged from the prior week. The Barnett’s total of 2 was the same.
