Next step made in proposed $13 billion AI center in Amarillo

The company that joined forces with Texas Tech University to build a $13 billion nuclear development of what could become of the largest AI complexes in the world at Amarillo has named two veteran nuclear industry executives to lead the project.
Fermi America announced recently the naming of Mesut Uzman as chief nuclear officer and Sezin Uzman as vice president of nuclear supply chain and compliance.
The company says once completed, the center would have 11 gigawatts of planned generation capacity and half would come from new nuclear reactors while the rest would be supplied by natural gas,solar, battery storage and grid-supplied electricity.
