A federal judge in Denver has revived a lawsuit challenging the state of Colorado and the city of Denver’s energy standards for large buildings, a suit that originally had been dismissed in March.

U.S. District Judge Regina M. Rodriguez made the ruling after some apartment and hotel trade groups filed an amended complaint. She decided the new filing corrected problems in the original filing of the challenge.

The original challenge had been dismissed without prejudice which means it could be amended and refiled. The judge had first ruled the first challenge was “insufficient” aainst the regulationwhich regulates the energy efficiency or use of “natural gas-powered appliances, such as stoves and water heaters,” reported Colorado Politics.
