Evergy, the utility firm in Kansas and Missouri, is on its way to following through with a $2.75 billion infrastructure plan.
The company first won approval from Kansas regulators then received approval of regulators in Misosuri to build three natural gas plants and two solar projects.
Evergy announced last year its intent to build the gas plants — two in Kansas and one in Missouri — and the solar plants, one in each state, reported the Kansas Reflector. The company sought pre-approval for the projects through Kansas and Missouri regulators.
The Kansas Corporation Commission granted approval in early July.
