Some changes are coming to the Oil and Gas Protest Docket at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
Chief Administrative Law Judge Mary Candler announced the changes will take effect the week of September 15.
PROTEST DAYS EACH WEEK
- The days available for hearing protests will expand from three to four days per week. After September 15, 2025, administrative law judges may be assigned protested hearings on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and/or Friday.
- Judicial Services, including the OCC Administrative Law Judges, OCC Court Reporters, OCC Hearing Technicians, OCC Court Clerk’s Office and OCC Judicial Support Staff, understand that this docket change may present short-term scheduling adjustments and are prepared to offer assistance as needed.
- Uncontested hearings and Motions will still be heard on Monday and Tuesday dockets.
WEEKLY PREHEARING CONFERENCES
- Based on the successful communication model established over the past two years where administrative law judges proactively contacted attorneys for status updates, all cases requesting to be heard on the weekly Oklahoma City OCC Protest Docket will now be scheduled on a Prehearing Conference Docket. A Prehearing Conference will take place prior to the merits hearing. A Prehearing Docket will be set each Monday. Attorneys of record for each case on the week’s Protest Docket are requested to appear, either virtually or in person, to provide a status update on their protested cases.
