“Audit” remains the focus of challenge to rate decisions by Corporation Commission

As defined, the word “audit” is said to be an “official inspection of an individual’s or organization’s accounts, typically by an independent body.”

The definition is also what is driving Rep. Tom Gann and two other legislators to continue their legal challenges at the Oklahoma Supreme Court of the so-called audits of the 2021 Winter Storm Uri spending by three major utilities, OGE, PSO and ONG.

Gann, just as former Corporation Commissioner Bob Anthony claimed, contends the Corporation Commission’s one-page summary of spending by the three utilities is not an audit. He repeated his claims in last week’s latest filing with the Supreme Court.

His story also caught the attention of former state capitol reporter M. Scott Carter, now with the Southwest Ledger.
