Air filtering plant closing in Ardmore

August hasn’t been the kindest of months to the city of Ardmore in southern Oklahoma.

First there was the announcement by Australian-based Woodside Energy it had canceled plans for a major hyrogen energy plant. Then this week, AAF Flanders announced it is closing its Ardmore operations. American Air Filter is a subsidiary of the Daikin Group.

At least 120 employees will be affected at the plant where air filtration products were manufactured. The shutdown will be completed by December.

On top of the hydrogen plant decision, Ardmore also faces the coming closure of the Michelin tire plant. They are decisions that has Ardmore Development Authority leaders racing to find new businesses that might fill the number of lost jobs.
