Any time 1,000 new jobs are discussed and it’s worth turning heads.
Such is the case at Tinker Air Force Base where the government is adding 1,000 new jobs as part of the Air Force’s B-21 bomber campus. The B-21 “Raider” is the world’s first sixth generation bomber and the Air Force announced this week the first two planes won’t be delivered until 2026. Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota has been designated as the first operational base and training site for the B-21, with supporting infrastructure under construction since 2021.
The Air Force recently made a $24.5 million purchase of 131 adjacent acres for an expansion of its Maintenance Repair Overhaul Technology Center, formerly developed by the Oklahoma Industries Authority.
But the additional jobs won’t occur immediately. It will take over the next 20 years.
